Mark and I are 4th generation Oregonians with farming in our bones. When we moved to these five acres that we call Fern Creek we didn't expect to create a small farm that would help feed our local community. But that kinda evolved, and for eight years we ran a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). At the height of it, 30 families came and picked up produce once a week from Fern Creek's bounty.

   

We've transitioned our vegetable patches to more fruit, and are now a full on fruit farm with U-Pick berries of all sorts and We-pick tree fruit. Anyone can join our community, which simply means you get word of fruit picking (and fruit picking up) opportunities.

We converted our apprenticeship quarters to a sweet apartment for guests who want a small farm sort of stay, that can include feeding hens and petting goats, which can be booked through either Airbnb or Vrbo.

 

Not uncommonly, guests ask for the recipe for Mark's cookies, which are always freshly baked and on the table to welcome guests.
